This privacy policy explains which personal data we process when you visit our website ahbabitravel.ch, contact us, enquire about a trip or make a donation. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Our website is hosted by nissa.ch. When you visit the website, technical data is stored automatically: IP address, date and time, page visited, browser and operating system. We need this data to run the website securely and reliably. It is deleted after 30 days at the latest, unless it is needed to investigate an attack or misuse.
When you contact us via the contact form, email, phone or WhatsApp, we process your name, your email address or phone number and your message in order to answer your enquiry. Messages from the form are sent to us by email. For WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s (Meta’s) privacy policy also applies.
For Umrah and Hajj trips we process the information needed to organise the trip, such as name, contact details, date of birth and passport and visa details. We only pass it on as far as necessary for your trip: to airlines, hotels, transport companies and, for the visa, to the Saudi authorities or the Nusuk portal. In doing so, data is also transferred to Saudi Arabia, where data protection is not comparable to Switzerland. This transfer is necessary to carry out the trip you have requested.
When you donate via our website, we process your first name, last name, email address, amount, payment method and your message or purpose of the donation. We store this information to allocate your donation, send you a confirmation and keep our accounts. Donations go to the projects of Humani Ahbabi Schweiz.
Depending on the payment method you choose, your data is transferred to the following providers; their privacy policies also apply:
We do not receive your card details. For the QR bill, the QR code is created via the external service api.qr-server.com; the amount, purpose and your IP address are sent to this service.
A Google Maps map is embedded on the contact page (Google Ireland Ltd., Ireland, and Google LLC, USA). When you open this page, your IP address and technical information are sent to Google, and Google may set cookies. More information can be found in Google’s privacy policy.
To display the website and provide its functions, we load fonts, code and one image from external servers: Google Fonts (Google, Ireland/USA), jsDelivr and cdnjs (content delivery networks with servers worldwide, including Cloudflare, USA) and Wikimedia (USA). Your IP address is sent to these providers in the process.
We only use one technically necessary session cookie. It remembers the language you selected, protects the contact form against misuse and is deleted when you close your browser. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Embedded services such as Google Maps may set their own cookies.
Our website contains simple links to Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Only when you click such a link are you taken to the respective provider; its privacy policy then applies.
Some of the providers mentioned process data in the EU or the USA. EU countries are considered to have adequate data protection. For providers in the USA we rely, where available, on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses. For transfers to Saudi Arabia in connection with trips, see section 4.
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by law. Business and accounting records, for example on bookings and donations, are kept for 10 years. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are usually deleted after two years.
You can request information about the data we hold about you at any time, have incorrect data corrected and have data deleted, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it. You can object to the processing and withdraw any consent you have given. Please contact the address in section 1. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, www.edoeb.admin.ch) or with a data protection authority in your country of residence in the EU.
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS). We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this page applies.
